Our Ethos

From the materials we choose to the packaging we design, we are always thinking of ways to reduce our impact on the planet while delivering high-quality products, many of which can be used repeatedly. Our knitted toys made using organic cotton and magical dress-up outfits are designed in-house to become family heirlooms – worn, cuddled, loved and passed down through generations.

Meanwhile, we have dreamy partyware from felt garlands to elegant linen napkins, that's made to endure multiple occasions. Here are some of the steps we’ve taken to helping you host parties using items that can be reused, composted or handed on.

Our Materials

We are committed to environmental responsibility, utilizing FSC® certified papers and wood whenever possible. Our commercially compostable range is dyed with water-based ink and certified by the Biodegradable Product Institute. Continuously evaluating our products, we're shifting towards more durable materials. We recently introduced a new range of reusable plastic tableware containing at least 82% recycled PET plastic, most of which is derived from plastic bottles.

Our fabric décor, wooden, and paper garlands are intended to be stored and reused. Simply pack away and save for next time!

Our knitted toys and baby accessories, designed as beautiful keepsakes, are made using organic cotton. Our product team is consistently researching new materials and technologies as they become available.

“We’re focusing on creating beautiful, joyful reusable tableware and decorations that can be used party after party.”

Our Packaging

When putting together new collections, we’ve made significant efforts to reduce plastic in packaging and minimize packing sizes for easier transportation and storage. We also make sure it’s resealable so you can pack things neatly away, enabling you to store items like paper garlands and centrepieces easily until their next use. Additionally, our fabric garlands come in reusable drawstring fabric bags.

Our Community

Meri Meri is proud to support various small and large charities in various ways in both the UK and the US. Here are some of the charities we have recently collaborated with and continue to support:

Our Suppliers

We maintain a rigorous supplier onboarding process, only accepting those with a Sedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) or an equivalent social audit. Sedex is a global membership organization that aids companies in managing responsible and ethical supply chains. It provides a platform for sharing ethical data, promoting transparency, and supporting ethical sourcing practices worldwide, enabling us to efficiently monitor, assess, and enhance social and environmental standards within our supply chains.

Our Distribution Centers

At our main distribution center in Reno, NV US, we have implemented several sustainable practices, including using paper tape on all cartons supplied by overseas vendors and outbound cartons. Our box-making machine has helped reduce dunnage (durable padding) consumption by over 30%, and automatic motion-controlled lights are in place to save energy. We have established a strict recycling program for all packaging materials, including corrugate, plastics, and paper.

Meanwhile, our partner distribution centers in Europe have made significant investments in rail capacity, rainwater capture, and storage infrastructure. Solar panels, a greenhouse, vegetable and herb gardens, electric vehicle charging points, and habitats for bees and bats feature in our warehouse in Born, the Netherlands. Greywater recycling is utilized for truck washes and sprinkler systems, while initiatives like repurposing pallets for furniture and redirecting materials from landfill via waste exchange agreements are ongoing. Our vehicle fleet is transitioning to hybrid and electric cars, supported by onsite charging stations.
