“We've made a cute Halloween Treat Box that matches this year’s collection. It's perfect for holding small cookies, a cupcake or candy to treat friends. Alternatively, you could keep it for yourself and use it as a lantern decoration, just add a battery powered tea light to illuminate it.”

You Will Need:

Lightweight card
Scissors or Craft knife (adult use only)
Glue stick
Hole punch
Ribbon or string
Orange tissue paper and battery powered tea light (optional)

How to Make:

Step 1:

Print out the two box templates onto lightweight card or mount the printed paper onto card.

Step 2:

Cut out along the solid lines.

Step 3:

Score and fold along the dashed lines. The dashed lines for the roof sides fold in.

Step 4:

Carefully cut out the windows with scissors (or ask an adult to use a craft knife for this bit). Alternatively, cut out one large window and make a window frame by cutting out and sticking two thin pieces of card on the inside of the box.

Step 5:

Glue the two side tabs to join the box together. Then secure the base tabs with glue.

Step 6:

Fill your box with some delicious homemade Halloween cookies or sweet treats. Or cut out and score the separate base for a Halloween cupcake.

Step 7:

Punch holes at the top and tie with ribbon or string. You can cut out and add the ghost peeping out of the window.

Step 8:

Finish off with a bat gift tag which can be gently scored and creased to give a 3D effect.

Turn your treat box into a Halloween lantern by putting a battery-powered tea light inside! (Try orange tissue paper inside to create a glowing effect).
